One base, many websites.
Habitat for Humanity works in dozens of countries and keeps creating websites for its branches and projects. It needed a way to launch new websites faster, without starting from scratch every time.
The partnership began in 2015.

Websites and projects on a shared foundation

It began by redesigning one website
We started working with Habitat for Humanity in 2015. The organisation approached us to redesign an existing website, which we implemented based on a supplied design.
Over time, it became clear that the same approach could help other branches and projects too.
One website showed the way, and the rest could repeat it.
A template we adapted to each project
So that each new website would not mean repeating all the work, we built a generic template that could be configured for a specific branch or project.
The ready-made foundation fitted wherever it made no sense to build a whole website from scratch. At the same time, it could be adapted to what each project actually needed.

Each new website built on a finished foundation.
More websites, same foundation
At launch, the template powered the Habitat for Humanity websites in Kenya, Poland and England, among others. Today it is used by the Polish branch.
The template was not tied to a single website. Habitat for Humanity could use it as a shared foundation for several projects.

REELIH: a website about energy poverty
Getwarmhomes.org was the website of the Residential Energy Efficiency for Low Income Households (REELIH) initiative. The initiative focuses on energy-efficient housing for people in need and raises awareness of energy poverty.
We supported and maintained the website for the initiative.

Looking after other projects
We also managed other websites, such as Europe Housing Forum, which was built by our Webentor team.
After launch, we maintained them regularly and provided support.
Sometimes it pays to build a system instead of one website
When analysing the requirements, we found that Habitat for Humanity needed more than one website: it needed an efficient way to create new ones as its branches and projects required them.
So we chose a foundation that can be reused and adapted to each specific project. With every new website, that saves both time and budget.
With many sites, a system pays off.
Instead of another site, we build a system.
We find what repeats across your websites and build a foundation for launching new ones quickly. We look after it after launch too.
