Web applications, made to measure
Internal systems, client portals, configurators and platforms for processes that a standard website or a spreadsheet can no longer handle.
We design the application around how your company actually works and connect it to your systems. After launch, we keep developing it.
Web applications we build
A web application runs in the browser, just like a website. But people work in it: they enter data, approve, calculate and order. That is why we design it starting from the process it has to support.
Internal systems and intranets
Records, approvals, overviews and an intranet for employees. They replace the spreadsheets and emails that are passed between people and departments today.
Client portals and online accounts
A place where clients check their account status, contracts or orders and sort out what they need on their own. That is how the Online Account works, giving Across clients access to their investment account.
Configurators and calculators
Customers put together a product to their own specification and see the price straight away. For Active24 we built hosting and server configurators that recalculate the price via an API without reloading the page.
Platforms and SaaS products
An application that is the product itself. Your customers use it, pay for it or buy services through it. With a product like that, we plan for the next versions from the very first one.
Connections and data integrations
When data is created in one system and you need it in another, we connect them via an API or a custom connector. Then nobody has to retype data by hand.
What's included
We handle analysis, design, development, deployment and operation as one project with one team. You don't have to coordinate an analyst, a designer, developers and hosting separately.
Process analysis and feature specification
UX/UI design and clickable prototype
Application frontend and backend
User roles, permissions and sign-in
APIs and connections to ERP, CRM and internal systems
Security and protection of sensitive data
Testing of scenarios, permissions and integrations
Deployment, hosting and monitoring
Operation, updates and further development under an SLA
Who we build applications for
For companies whose process has outgrown spreadsheets and email. A standard website can't carry it, and an off-the-shelf tool won't adapt to it.
They often already have an internal system, ERP or CRM and need an interface to it for clients, partners or their own people. We then design the application to work directly with those systems.
Typical signs
Data is retyped by hand
Someone enters the same information into a spreadsheet, an email and an internal system.
Only one person knows the process
Only the person who created the spreadsheet years ago knows how it all works.
Clients keep asking for updates
They call and email about an order or a contract whose status they could check themselves.
Off-the-shelf software doesn't fit
It forces you to change your process to suit it, and part of the work stays outside it anyway.
An app that works with your systems
A web application rarely stands alone. It takes data from your internal system, ERP or CRM and sends the results back. That is why we design the integration together with the interface from the start.
Employees, clients, partners
everyone sees only what they are authorised to see
Web application
forms, overviews, approvals and calculations
API layer
structured around what the application needs
ERP, CRM, internal system
data stays where it is created
The Active24 configurators take hosting, server and domain prices directly from central systems. Editors don't retype them, and customers see the current price.
How a web application is built
First we map how the work is done today and where the process slows down. Only then do we design screens and choose the technology.
Process analysis
We go through with you who works with the application, what data goes into it and what it needs to connect to. The result is a specification, scope and estimate.
UX/UI design
We design the main screens and user flows. You walk through a clickable prototype with the people who will use the application.
Architecture and integrations
We decide where the data will live, how the application will connect to your systems and who will have which permissions.
Development in sprints
We build the application in parts. You see working versions as we go, so we can work your feedback in before it piles up.
Testing and launch
We verify scenarios, permissions and integrations, migrate existing data where needed and put the application into operation.
Operation and development
After launch, we look after updates, security and monitoring, and keep extending the application.
Version one should do the essentials well. The rest comes once we see how people use it.
Technologies
We build the interface in React or Next.js, and the backend, depending on the project, in Laravel, Symfony or Node.js.
We connect the application to the systems you already have via REST or GraphQL APIs. For sensitive data, we add two-factor authentication and fine-grained permissions.
We fit the technology to the project, not the project to the technology.
Why trust Webikon with your app
Experience with sensitive data
For Across, we designed and built digital access to an investment account with two-factor authentication and document signing. Both verification and signing are built right into the user flow.
Process first, then code
We work the brief up with you into a specification and a prototype. Before development starts, you know what will be built and what estimate we are working with.
Connected to what you already have
We connect applications to ERP, CRM, PIM and internal systems. For Sharp, a product change in the PIM shows up on the website for 12 European markets almost instantly.
A partner after launch, too
Our partnerships last more than 5 years on average. We keep running and developing the application as your process or business changes.

Questions about app development
If you can't find the answer here, write to us. We'll be glad to help.
How much does web application development cost?
The price depends on the number of features, user roles and integrations, and on what data the application works with. After the initial analysis and specification, we prepare a specific estimate. If the budget is limited, we propose a first version that solves what matters most.
How long does development take?
A smaller application or a first version can be ready in a few months. Larger systems with several integrations take longer. Development runs in sprints, so you see and test the finished parts as we go.
Is a custom application worth it, or will an off-the-shelf tool do?
If an off-the-shelf tool covers your process without major compromises, we will recommend it. A custom application makes sense when your process is specific to you, when you would have to bend the tool to fit, or when you need an integration it does not offer.
Can you connect the application to our systems?
Yes. We connect applications to ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways and internal systems via APIs. If a system has no API, we find another way, such as a regular export and import or a custom connector.
Can we start with a smaller version?
Yes, and we often recommend it. The first version covers the main process, and we add further features step by step. We design the architecture so that it can be extended without a rebuild.
Will you take over an application built by another supplier?
Yes. First we carry out a technical audit to find out the state of the code, infrastructure and documentation. Then we propose what needs fixing now and what can wait. That is how we took over the Sharp website from another agency, for example.
How do you handle security and access rights?
We design permissions together with the process: who can see, change and approve what. Depending on how sensitive the data is, we add two-factor authentication, encryption, an audit log and regular security updates.
We will build an application around how you actually work.
Tell us how the process works today, who works with it and which systems the application should connect to. Together we'll go through the options and propose a first step.
