Glossary

Digital terms without jargon.

Digital projects come with acronyms and technical terms. We explain them simply, so you know what is being decided.

Terms you will meet in a project

15 terms in alphabetical order. Each one is explained the way we use it with our clients.

API

An interface through which applications and systems exchange data. An online shop, for example, can use an API to communicate with an ERP system, a warehouse or a payment service.

CI/CD

The process of automating the testing, preparation and deployment of changes. It helps a team get verified changes into production more safely and repeatably.

Core Web Vitals

A set of metrics Google uses to assess a website's user experience in terms of loading, responsiveness and visual stability.

Headless CMS

A content management system separated from the website's frontend. Content is managed on its own and delivered to the website or app via an API. It suits projects that need more freedom in their architecture and further development.

LLM (large language model)

A type of AI model that works with language. It is used, for example, to generate and process text, search for information or build AI features into products.

MVP (minimum viable product)

The first usable version of a digital product, with the features needed to test the core idea in practice. The aim is not to have everything, but to find out as early as possible what works.

PWA (progressive web app)

A web application with some features typical of mobile apps. It can be installed on a device and, if designed for it, can also work offline.

RAG

A way for AI to work with specific company data. When answering, the model looks up relevant information in your documents or databases and uses it as context.

React Native

A technology for building iOS and Android mobile apps from a shared codebase, so both platforms can share a large part of the code.

SLA

A service level agreement. It sets out, for example, availability, response times and how incidents are handled while a digital solution is in operation.

Sprint

A short, predefined work cycle during which the team works on a specific part of the project. By the end of it there should be a finished, verifiable result.

UX / UI

UX is about how a product is used and whether users can reach their goal easily. UI covers how the interface itself looks and behaves.

Vendor lock-in

When a solution is tied closely, technically or contractually, to a single vendor or platform. When we design solutions, we try not to create that kind of dependency unnecessarily.

Wireframe

A simple layout sketch of a page or screen. It shows the structure and hierarchy of the content before we work on the visual design.

WooCommerce

An e-commerce platform built as a WordPress extension. It lets you build and run an online shop and connect it to other systems as needed.
