# Webikon retreat 2022

> This time we let ourselves be pampered by the hospitality of Hotel Sliezsky dom in the beautiful setting of the High Tatras, and we made the most of it.

### High Tatras, brace yourselves!

In 2022 we met up once again for our favourite Webikon retreat. This time we let ourselves be pampered by the hospitality of [Hotel Sliezsky dom](https://sliezskydom.sk/) in the beautiful setting of the High Tatras, and we made the most of it, as any Webikon trip should.

### How do we get to Sliezsky dom?

East met west **up north, in the village of Batizovce**, where we had a clear plan: a **delicious lunch at [Bistro Moment](https://www.namoment.sk/)**. Fortified, we moved on to the car park in Tatranská Polianka, where a lift was waiting to take us straight to Hotel Sliezsky dom, and the adventure could begin. On arrival we **unpacked our tools** (laptops), talked about our plans for the future, went through the latest news and looked at the marketing presentation for the coming months. We got the formalities out of the way quickly, because we couldn't wait for the **adrenaline-filled programme** that followed.

### How we fell in love with scooters

We headed off to **Tatranská Lomnica**, where our **infernal machines** were waiting: scooters. After a thorough briefing, we set off. We really enjoyed the ride, and the route to Tatranská Polianka was a lovely one, **lined with hills**, woods and beautiful countryside. Back at the hotel, we refuelled with an excellent dinner, and then it was **free time**. Once again we used it for **lively discussion** of work and non-work topics.

### We made the most of the High Tatras

On day two we didn't slack off. After a hearty breakfast, just like **every working day**, we started at 9:00 with our first meeting, ready to get some work done. Our colleague Jano had prepared a very interesting presentation on **making rewards more efficient** relative to working time, which sparked a **productive discussion**. We'd liked the scooters so much the day before that we had to **use them again**. So we headed to Tatranská Lomnica and, as it was getting a little late, decided to **take the cable car up to Skalnaté pleso**. From there we followed a well-known path across to Hrebienok and down to **Starý Smokovec**.

The walk wore us out, so we needed to **recharge**. And how better than with an excellent dinner? Some of us also treated ourselves to **the sauna and a massage**. Jano made our day when he brought out an Oculus and we could try virtual reality for ourselves. And that was **great fun!**

### Something of a food trip

In the morning we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and **got ready** to leave. Since we'd treated this **Webikon retreat** more like a food trip, enjoying amazing food wherever we could, we headed for our **last stop**, [Beňovský bistro](https://www.bistrobenovsky.sk/) in Poprad. With the whole team together, we enjoyed one last **lunch together** and then popped next door for **excellent coffee** at [Espresso Bar PP](https://www.espressobar.sk/). This retreat was a bit **unusual**, since we spent it at Hotel Sliezsky dom, but we all enjoyed **our time together** and have plenty to look back on.
